Fat Loss in London

Losing fat while holding the muscle that gives you shape, coached across four private London clubs with the eating side set up alongside the training from week one.

Fat Loss

How to lose body fat

Losing fat requires a sustained energy deficit. Keeping the muscle while you do it requires two more things: resistance training that gives your body a reason to hold onto lean tissue, and enough protein to support it. Run all three together and the weight you lose comes mostly from fat, so you finish the block leaner and stronger. Run the deficit on its own and a meaningful share of the loss is muscle, which is how people end up lighter and less happy with the result.

The size of the deficit is a coaching decision rather than a personal-willpower test. Set it too deep and training quality, sleep and mood all degrade in the same fortnight, and the plan gets abandoned. Set it moderately and it keeps working for long enough to matter. The target is corrected against what your weight and measurements actually do, not against a formula from week one.

The other half of the work is the part nobody photographs: activity outside the gym, sleep, and how the plan handles a week with three dinners in it. Those are usually where a stall comes from, and they are diagnosed in order before anyone touches the training.

What a coached fat-loss block gives you

Fat lost with the muscle kept

Strength work and adequate protein are what direct the loss toward fat. The finish is a leaner, more defined version of you rather than a smaller version of the same shape.

A deficit sized to be survivable

The rate is set so training quality and sleep hold up. That is what makes the plan last long enough to produce a result instead of collapsing in the third week.

A stall diagnosed rather than waited out

When the trend flattens, the causes are worked through in order: adherence, then activity outside the gym, then the target itself. Each has a different fix and guessing between them wastes weeks.

Eating that survives a London week

Client lunches, late finishes and weekends are designed into the plan rather than treated as lapses. A plan that only works on a quiet week is not a plan.

Progress measured properly

Measurements, strength numbers and photographs are tracked alongside weight, so a flat week on the scale is never mistaken for a week without progress.

Something to hold afterwards

The block ends with a maintenance plan rather than a return to whatever came before. Holding the result is a separate skill and it is coached as one.

Why am I not losing fat?

  • Energy intake was never established, so the deficit is assumed rather than known
  • Activity outside the gym quietly fell as the deficit ran, offsetting most of it
  • Weekends undo the weekday deficit, so the weekly average sits close to maintenance
  • The deficit was aggressive enough to cost muscle, sleep and training quality together
  • Protein sits too low to protect lean mass while energy is restricted
  • Progress is judged on daily scale weight, which moves with hydration and salt far more than with fat

Frequently asked
questions

How fast should I expect to lose fat?

A steady, sustainable rate is the target, because that is the rate that keeps training quality and sleep intact. Visible change usually takes a few months of consistency. The pace depends on your starting point and is mapped at the first session rather than promised beforehand.

Do I have to do cardio?

Not necessarily. The deficit comes primarily from energy intake, and strength training is what protects the muscle. Conditioning is added where it suits your goal, your recovery and your week, rather than prescribed by default as a way of burning extra calories.

Why has my fat loss stalled?

Most commonly because weekly intake has crept back toward maintenance, or because activity outside the gym has dropped as the deficit has run. Both are addressed before the deficit is deepened, because cutting further on an undiagnosed stall usually costs muscle and sleep.

Will I be given a strict diet to follow?

No. You get an energy range and a protein floor, then meals built from food you already eat. Elimination and rigid meal plans rarely survive a working week, and a plan you abandon in week four returns nothing regardless of how well it was designed.
